Founded in 1967, Applied Baccini Cell Systems is based in Treviso, Italy, near the historic city of Venice. Under the visionary leadership of its founder and chairman, Gisulfo Baccini, the company built a global reputation for engineering innovation, beginning with its first screen printing machine for microelectronics in 1972. In the mid-1980s, Baccini introduced the solar industry’s first integrated cell metallization line for PV manufacturing, the predecessor to its current market-leading portfolio of systems and fully-automated lines for high volume c-Si cell production.

After many years as a top supplier of solar manufacturing systems, Baccini was acquired by Applied Materials in 2008. Combining Baccini’s products and technologies with Applied’s expertise in processing technology, advanced automation and R&D resources provides solar customers with world-class factory production tools for advanced c-Si solar cells. In addition, Baccini products are supported worldwide by Applied Materials global service organization.
